Vice President Media Strategy
Shalimar is Comunicad’s Brand Warrior leading international and national corporate launches in the U.S., Latin America, and Spain. She directs and creates digital campaigns that drive awareness for Fortune 50 companies and social impact programs that foster market penetration. She develops public-private partnerships between corporate divisions, media, influencers, and nonprofit and civic organizations to mobilize communities and foster engagement. She also leads and mentors internal and external teams in the creation and implementation of sustainable programs, including meeting budget requirements and producing metrics.
Prior to joining Comunicad, she had various leadership roles in communications, fundraising, and event management with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, U.S. Department of Treasury, and U.S. House of Representatives. Shalimar holds a Master’s Degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications and a Graduate Marketing Certificate from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Sacred Heart in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
